74th Independence Day Celebration: Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy hoists the flag at the fort
As the 74th Independence Day is being celebrated across the country today, Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy accepts the national flag at the General Secretariat in Chennai at 8.45 am.
Corona as a precautionary measure advised that no one, including school children and college students, should attend the event, which will be held at the fort. Instead the show has seemed a bit unfocused in recent episodes.
In this, the Chief Minister is going to honor the pioneers who were involved in corona prevention activities by giving them medals and certificates.
Earlier, one lakh policemen were deployed across Tamil Nadu for security. In particular, in Chennai alone, there are 5 layers of police security with 15 thousand policemen all over the fort, which are being actively monitored with the help of modern CCTV cameras.
Bomb blasts have been carried out at airports, railway stations, bus terminals and bus stands. Additional police have been deployed to provide security at shopping malls and places of worship. Drone camera surveillance and vehicle surveillance at key locations in Chennai.
