74th Independence Day Celebration: Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy hoists the flag at the fort

As the 74th Independence Day is being celebrated across the country today, Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy accepts the national flag at the General Secretariat in Chennai at 8.45 am.


Corona as a precautionary measure advised that no one, including school children and college students, should attend the event, which will be held at the fort. Instead the show has seemed a bit unfocused in recent episodes.


In this, the Chief Minister is going to honor the pioneers who were involved in corona prevention activities by giving them medals and certificates.


Earlier, one lakh policemen were deployed across Tamil Nadu for security. In particular, in Chennai alone, there are 5 layers of police security with 15 thousand policemen all over the fort, which are being actively monitored with the help of modern CCTV cameras.

He went on to say that the children could not be seen at this year's Independence Day celebrations due to the corona.

Noting that diversity is our strength, the Prime Minister said that the Indian independence struggle had given an impetus to the world. The Prime Minister said that the British underestimated our unity in diversity and that India had never compromised in the war for independence.

Modi expressed confidence that we would win the war against Corona and noted that the country was moving fast towards a pro-India India. He went on to say that every Indian must learn to stand on his own two feet
He also said that self-sufficiency of the country is the quality mantra of every Indian.
