Will the lockdown be extended in Tamil Nadu? Chief Minister's consultation with District Collectors

Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy held consultations with all District Collectors and a panel of medical experts on corona prevention and curfew.


The extended lockdown in Tamil Nadu ends on the 31st. Questions have been raised as to whether the curfew will be extended, withdrawn, further relaxed and whether the e-pass system will continue.


In this context, Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy held consultations with all District Collectors through video conferencing. He said the government has provided over Rs 7,162 crore for the control, treatment and relief of Govt infection.


Edappadi Palanisamy said that even during the Corona period, MoUs have been signed so far to launch 42 new ventures, with an investment of about Rs 31,464 crore and about 69,712 new jobs to be created.


Following the consultation meeting with the District Collectors, Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy held consultations with a panel of medical experts. According to reports, the meeting discussed the spread of corona, preventive measures and treatment options. Based on the recommendations made by the doctors at this meeting and the comments received at the meeting of the District Collectors, important announcements regarding curfews, restrictions, and relaxations are expected to be made.
