In colleges and universities in Tamil Nadu, semester examinations have been canceled for students other than final year students.
Meanwhile, students have been given permission to go to the next year by giving marks as per UGC guidelines. The government has announced that the decision will be made under the guidance of the Central Government only for final year students.
In this regard, the University Grants Commission has issued guidelines on the score calculation system for canceled semester examinations.
UGC has issued guidelines that 50 per cent should be calculated from the previous November-December semester exam score and 50 per cent from the internal marks of the semester for April-May.
The UGC also said that if a student does not appear for the November-December semester exam, he or she may be awarded marks based on the internal marks taken in the April-May semester in full.
The UGC said that if students are not satisfied with the marks calculated on the basis of internal and previous semesters, they can take part in a special examination conducted with the right environment and raise their marks and those marks will be considered as final.
The UGC also said that students with Aryan can then write and pass as Aryan examinations will be conducted along with the special examination conducted with the right environment.
The Medical Council of India will take a decision on the cancellation of the semester examination for students studying in colleges of arts and sciences, polytechnics and engineering colleges.
Implementation of the new national education policy in Tamil Nadu
Regarding the implementation of the new national education policy in Tamil Nadu, the Minister of Higher Education K.P. Anbalagan will hold an important consultation tomorrow.
The Union Cabinet recently approved the implementation of a new education policy to replace the existing education policy in the country. After the consultation, he will meet Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy. It has been reported that after this meeting, the Chief Minister will consult with the Minister of School Education, Senkottaiyan, to announce the position of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
