The Tamil Nadu government has declared a public holiday tomorrow due to heavy rains due to Nivar storm.
The Chief Minister visited the State Emergency Management Center at Chennai and inspected the Nivar storm precautionary measures. He consulted with ministers and officials, including the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, about the arrangements.
The Chief Minister, who later met reporters, said all necessary precautionary measures have been taken to deal with the effects of the storm and heavy rains. The Chief Minister said that schools, colleges, community halls and wedding halls have been set up for the stay and rescue and relief teams are on standby with the necessary equipment and equipment to remove the stagnant water.
Edappadi Palanisamy said all arrangements were being made in the coastal districts and the collectors had been advised on storm precautionary measures. The Chief Minister also explained that the authorities have been directed to focus on about 4000 places where the storm is likely to affect.
The Chief Minister advised the people to follow the guidelines announced by the government and stay safe in their homes and declared a public holiday tomorrow.
Edappadi Palanisamy also said that the Prime Minister had assured that the Central Government would stand by the Tamil Nadu government to deal with the storm. He said the decision to open Sembarambakkam Lake would be taken depending on the rainfall in Chennai.
