Pongal gift of Rs 2,500 to rice family card holders - Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy
The Chief Minister has announced that Rs. 2,500 each will be given to the rice family card holders along with the Pongal gift on the eve of the festival.
Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy inaugurated the Amma Mini Clinic in Iruppali village in the Edappadi area of the Salem district and provided welfare assistance.
Addressing the event, he announced that on the eve of Tamil Thirunalam Thaithirunala, rice family cardholders will be given a Pongal gift package of Rs. 2,500 each.
He said the work of distributing Pongal prize money and Pongal package in ration shops would start from January 4, adding that tokens would be issued to family card holders earlier.
The Chief Minister announced that in the Pongal package, one kg of rice, one kg of sugar, raisins, 20 g each of cashew nuts and 5 g of cardamom will be replaced with whole cane.
