The Chief Minister has announced that the schools will be open only for 10th and 12th class students from the 19th. Hostels for students coming to school are also allowed to operate.

Schools have been closed for about 10 months due to the corona disaster. In this context, Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy said that parents were consulted from January 6 to 8 about the opening of schools for 10th and 12th class students after the Pongal holiday.

He added that 95 percent of schools reported that the majority of parents who attended these meetings had given their consent to open schools.

With this in mind, considering the future welfare of the students in education, the Chief Minister has announced that the schools will be open only for 10th and 12th class students from the 19th.

When schools open, no more than 25 students per classroom are allowed to operate, subject to guidelines issued by the government. Hostels for students coming to school are also allowed to operate.

The Chief Minister has directed the health department to provide vitamin and zinc tablets to all students to boost their immunity.
