In a statement issued today, the Secretary-General said:

  • Due to the spread of corona, holidays have been announced for Tamil Nadu 9th, 10th and 11th class schools from March 22 until further orders.
  • Online / Digital classes for 9th, 10th, 11th classes will continue.
  • Class 10 general examination will be held as announced in the schools functioning under other boards.
  • Holidays have been announced as students should not be affected by corona increase and infection.
  • General writing students are allowed to conduct special classes and run hostels.
  • Permission has been granted to continue 12th class as per Corona guidelines.

Similarly, First-Minister Edappadi Palanisamy announced last month (February) that all 9th, 10th and 11th class students in the Assembly had passed the full year exams without any general examinations, considering the continuing impact of the epidemic this year and the extraordinary situation of students and teachers.
