WhatsApp is adding a new feature called ‘Fast Playback’ for all voice messages. Audio or voice based messaging is a popular feature in this app. Users in particular may or may not be tech enthusiasts on their smartphones. 

This fast playback feature allows you to change the background speed setting for voice messaging.

According to the company report, users can choose from the default 1x setting to 1.5x speed or 2x speed without changing the pitch of one's voice. One reason why WhatsApp adds this feature is that sometimes when users send a very long message, other parties will not have time to hear it.

The report further states that the introduction of Fast Playback will help speed up the message and reduce the time it takes to hear long voice messages.

This feature is now available to all WhatsApp users and the latest update of Android and iOS confirms this new feature.

How To Use Fast Playback Messages On WhatsApp?

When you receive a voice message, you will see the background speed appear. 

It is set to 1x by default. Click speed to increase speed to 1.5x or 2x. Then simply click the Play button.
