The Hon'ble Chief Minister chaired a consultative meeting with a panel of medical experts at the General Secretariat today (6-8-2021) on the nature of the corona epidemic in Tamil Nadu and its impact. 

Consultations were held with the Medical Expert Committee on the implementation of District wise Disease Control, Curfew Controls, Vaccine Awareness and Corona Control Measures.

Subsequently, with the curfew currently in force in Tamil Nadu ending at 6.00 am on 9-8-2021, the spread of the disease in various districts of the state; A consultative meeting was held with senior government officials and police officials on the impact of the disease in the neighboring states and the measures being taken.

The respective local bodies should ensure that the meat and fish markets are segregated and sold in the open in order to avoid crowding. 

The following important standard guidelines should be followed in all permitted shops and public places.

Hand sanitisers with dispensers must be placed at the entrance of the shop for customer use and must be thermally screened.

The management concerned should ensure that the employees and customers of the shops wear the mask.

All shops should operate with proper ventilation and should not allow too many people in the shops at the same time to observe social space.

When waiting in line for the general public at the entrance of the shops, signs should be put up so that there is enough space between one person and another.

Action will be taken against businesses / other companies that do not follow the above rules and allow more than the permitted number of customers. Experts also say that staying home for several months without going to school is causing great stress among children and a huge learning gap in society.

They also pointed out that online classes conducted through the Internet are not available to most children. Based on all the feedback, schools are scheduled to start on September 1 with 50 percent of students in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 following the Standard Operating Procedure for Corona Infection

In addition, the Department of Education is advised to take appropriate preliminary action.

Various medical colleges, including medical colleges and nursing courses, are allowed to operate from August 16th. The Department of Medicine and Public Welfare will issue detailed guidelines in this regard. Students and teachers studying in these medical colleges have already been vaccinated on the basis of being medical staff.
